Round One Call for Proposals for Collaborative Projects
Ontario Applications Deadline: May 12, 2011*
An International Collaboration
The Ontario Government and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST),
People's Republic of China, have signed an agreement on Research
and Innovation Cooperation - creating an alliance to support science and
technology research and commercialization ventures.
In 2011, Ontario and China will each invest $1 million to provide $2 million in overall
funding for innovative bilateral projects. The Ontario-China Research and
Innovation Fund (OCRIF) is now open for applications.
Grants Available
Academics and businesses, from Ontario and China, may propose shared
research projects in two areas:
- Water and water-related technologies; and
- Neuroscience
Awards**
Successful Ontario applicants could receive from $250,000 to $500,000 per project.
Applicants are also eligible for financial support from MOST to fund the China
portion of the project.
How to Apply
First day for submitting applications in Ontario: March 22, 2011
Final deadline for applications in Ontario: May 12, 2011 (4 p.m.)
The Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI) and MOST will conduct
parallel application processes. Ontario-based organizations apply directly
to MRI. Each project's lead Chinese partner must apply directly to MOST,
through the International Science & Technology Cooperation Program
of China (ISTCP), by April 15, 2011.
